Mathematical thinking applied to AI literacy, visual form, public writing, and interactive tools.

I’m David Bachman, a professor, writer, speaker, and mathematical artist. My work moves between higher education, public explanation, digital fabrication, and software projects that make abstract ideas tangible.

Professor at Pitzer College. For academic information, visit my college-hosted page.

The Through-Line

Across teaching, AI, art, and software, I am interested in making difficult structures visible. Sometimes that means a workshop, sometimes an essay, sometimes an object, and sometimes an interactive system.

  • Explain complex systems without reducing them to hype or slogans.
  • Use visual and tactile form to give abstract ideas a concrete shape.
  • Build tools and experiences that support intuition, not just information.
  • Move between scholarship, public communication, and making.
